STEM Block Refurbishment
This was a fantastic project from initial concept right the way through to the end result. We were delighted to once again be selected by Northampton Academy and United Learning to deliver the FF&E for this prestigious STEM scheme during the summer of 2020. Working closely with the key stakeholders all the way through the design process, we assisted with final finishes and colour selections in readiness for manufacture and installation.
The furniture layout and design in Science is based upon a student centric teaching approach to ensure that learners are always engaged. Service outlets mounted to the front of the benches facilitate ease of access in a practical lesson whilst keeping the same from being a distraction when not in use during theory sessions. All service outlets are in full teacher visibility to allow ease of classroom management.
Maximising the circulation space in Food Technology is key and the large teaching area at the front of the room allows students to view demonstrations without impaired sightlines and ensures that teaching staff can see all parts of the room especially during practical work sessions. Each peninsular end has a waste bin space to keep everything tidy and within easy access for every workstation.
Student and staff feedback has been overwhelmingly positive with some fabulous comments from the staff. Academy Business Manager, Jed Queally said:
"I really enjoyed the thorough preparation meetings and all the great suggestions as to how we could maximise the space and storage areas. Installation was as planned and within agreed timescales which given the short timeframe and Covid restrictions was impressive. For me, the best part is still the aftercare, nothing I have ever done has worked perfectly first time and knowing you continue to support us is great peace of mind. I would definitely recommend you."
